What it is like
A tall palm. It grows to 20 m high. The trunk is 12 cm across. It has a prominent crown-shaft. The crown-shaft is smooth and 60 cm long. It is light green. The palm has a rounded crown. The leaves are 1-2 m long. The leaflets are 23 cm long by 1.2 cm wide. They are crowded towards the base of the leaf and are frayed at the tips. They grow at right angles forming a V shape.
It is a rare plant. There are 9 Gulubia species.
Where it is found
It is a tropical plant. It grows on coral rock and limestone. It grows in wet forest at low elevations.
