What it is like
A grass. It keeps growing from year to year. The stems can have swollen bulbs at the base. The stems are erect and 1-2 m tall. They are 4-6 mm across. The leaf blades are 30-60 cm long by 0.5-2.5 cm wide.
Where it is found
It is a tropical plant. It grows on grassy hillsides below 900 m above sea level.
