What it is like
A shrub. It grows 1-2 m tall. The branches are blackish purple. They have brown hairs when young. The leaves are narrowly sword shaped and 3-8 cm long by 5-14 mm wide. The flowers occur as many in a group at the ends of branches. The petals are white or pink. The fruit are round and black. They are 4-7 mm across.
Where it is found
It is a tropical plant. It grows in open forests between 400-1,500 m above sea level.
