What it is like
A bulb plant. The leaves grow 30 cm high and flowers are 60 cm high. It spreads 15 cm wide. The leaves are strap shaped and broad. The flower stems are slender and greenish-brown. There is a loose cluster of funnel-shaped flowers at the top. The flowers are large and pinkish-mauve. These are 10 cm long. The stamens do not stick out.
Where it is found
It is a temperate plant. It will grow in full sun or light shade. It needs well drained soil that is dry in summer. It grows from sea level to 1,200 m above sea level.
