What it is like

A tree. It grows to 27 m high. The trunk is 70 cm across. There are buttresses 1 m high. The bark is smooth with scaly patches. The twigs are angular and when young are covered with hairs. The leaves are 10-15 cm long. There are 2-4 (or 5) leaflets on each side. These are 4-5.5 cm long by 1.5-2.5 cm wide. The uppermost leaflet is larger. It is 11.5 cm long by 4.5 cm wide. The seed coat is edible.
