What it is like
A climbing screwpine. The stems are long and flexible. The leaves are sword shaped and shiny. They are green with a few small spines near the edge. The flowers have large triangle shaped bracts and cylinder shaped yellow spadices. The fruit is fleshy and a pyramid shape. The seeds are narrow and 2.5 mm long by 0.4 mm wide.
Where it is found
It is a tropical plant. It grows on tree trunks or rocks near the sea shore. It can be in mountain rainforests up to 900 m above sea level.
