What it is like

A deciduous shrub. It grows 1.8 m high and spreads to 1.8 m wide. The leaves are narrowly oval and have fine hairs underneath. The flowers are in pairs and have short tubes. They are white but turn yellow. The fruit are glossy and dark red. It can form hybrids with Lonicera tatarica.

There are about 150 Lonicera species. It can be invasive.

It suits hardiness zones 3-9. It can tolerate both wet and dry sites.
