What it is like

A herb. It is hairy. It has woody rhizomes 30 cm long. The stems are short and robust with leaves on one side. The leaves are oval and unequal. They are 10-20 cm long by 5-12 cm wide. The flowering shoots occur singly. These have 2 flowers. They are white.


Where it is found

A tropical plant. It grows in forests and beside streams on shady banks between 200-1,500 m above sea level in southern China. In Yunnan.
