What it is like

A climbing shrub. The branches are ribbed. They are hairy. The leaves have 3 leaflets. The leaflets are 2-11 cm long by 1-5.4 cm wide. They are oval and with coarse teeth. Sometimes the leaflets are deeply 3 lobed. The flowers are creamy white. The fruit is dry and one seeded and densely hairy.

There are about 325 Clematis species.


Where it is found

It is a temperate plant. It grows from 900-2000 m altitude in Nepal. It grows in shady, cool places.
