What it is like

A much branched herb. It grows each year from seed. It grows 1 m tall. The leaves are 10-27 cm long by 3-5.5 cm wide. They are oblong to sword shaped and taper to the tip. The leaves have shallow round teeth along the edge. The flowers are pink in long stalked flower clusters.

There are about 850 Impatiens species.


Where it is found

It is a temperate plant. In Nepal they 1900-2600 m altitude. It grows in moist, shady places. They normally grow along stream banks.
