What it is like

A cactus. It rarely has branches. The stems are erect and 6-18 cm long by 9-11 cm wide. There are 18-23 ribs. There are 15-23 spines in each group. The flowers are 6-8 cm long by 6-9 cm wide. The fruit are green or a purplish-brown. They are 2.5-5 cm long. The pulp is white.
