What it is like

A climbing shrub. There are small slightly curved prickles. The leaves are simple and 6-8 cm long by 2-5 cm wide. The flowers are 1 cm across and the petals are white. The fruit is aggregate and red but turns purplish black when ripe. It is 7-10 mm across.


Where it is found

It is a tropical plant. In China it grows at low elevations in southern provinces. In Vietnam it has been recorded at 1,000 m above sea level. In Yunnan.
