What it is like

A herb or small shrub. The stems and branches are slender with white hairs. They can lie over and form roots at the nodes. They can be 15-50 cm long. The leaves are narrowly oval and 4-9 cm long by 2-4 cm wide. They taper to a sharp tip. The flowers are in spikes with a few flowers in the axils of the leaves near the base of the stem. These are 2-7 cm long by 1-1.5 cm wide.
