What it is like

A small plant which has a ring of leaves. The leaves are compound. The flowering stalks are 30-90 cm long. The flowers are trumpet shaped. There can be 10 flowers on each stem. They are 8 cm across. The flowers are light purple with yellow tinges.

There are 14 Incarvillea species.


Where it is found

It grows in temperate places. It needs a well-drained soil and sunny location. It grows in grasslands and on slopes between 2,400-3,900 m above sea level. It suits hardiness zones 6-9. In Sichuan and Yunnan.
