What it is like
A tree. It grows 50 m tall. It has a fluted trunk and buttresses at the base. Young shoots are hairy. The leaves are narrowly oval and 4-22 cm long by 2-9 cm wide. The flowers are in the axils of the leaves. The fruit are greenish and 4 cm long. They can have rusty hairs.

It is a tropical plant. It grows between 1,400-2,500 m above sea level.
