What it is like
A shrub or tree. It grows 4-18 m tall. The young branches are brown with rusty brown hairs. The leaves are simple. They have a rusty brown coating when young. The leaf blade is oval and 9-13 cm long by 5-6 cm wide. There are rounded teeth along the edge. There are many flowers in a group 4-7 cm long. The fruit are round and reddish brown. They are 1-2 cm across with 2-4 sections.
There are about 75 Sorbus species.
Where it is found
A tropical plant. It often grows attached to other plants in mountain forests. It grows in moist mixed forests between 1,200-3,400 m above sea level in south China. In Yunnan.
