What it is like
A tree. It grows 12 m tall. The young branches are red with rust coloured hairs. The leaf blade is broadly oval to sword shaped and 10-12 cm long by 3-7 cm wide. They are thinly leathery or papery. They are dull underneath. There are 10-14 pairs of secondary veins. They curve. The flowers are in the axils of the leaves. There are 1-3 flowers in a group. The fruit are round and red to brown. They are 1-2 cm across. There are 2 seeds.
Where it is found
A tropical plant. It grows in woodlands at mid elevations.
