What it is like

A herb. It grows 30-120 cm tall. It has a taproot and can live for a few years. It has dark hooked hairs. The leaves are narrowly oval and 12-20 cm long by 1-3 cm wide but get smaller up the stem.

It is a temperate plant. In China it grows in grasslands on mountain slopes between 600-3,700 m above sea level. In Sichuan.
