What it is like
A climbing plant. It grows 2-6 m tall. The stems are 1-3 cm thick. The leaves are 25-64 cm long by 9-33 cm wide. There are 1-4 flowers in a group in the axils of leaves.
Where it is found
It is a tropical plant. It grows from sea level to 1,450 m above sea level.

How it is used for food
It contains calcium oxalates. These would need to be removed by changing the cooking water if the leaves were to be eaten.
