What it is like
A herb. The stems are 5-25 cm tall. The leaves at the base are small and have long leaf stalks. They are kidney shaped and 4-5 cm long by 5-9 cm wide. They are pale green underneath. The stem leaves are oval or sword shaped and 2 cm long by 1 cm wide.
Where it is found
It is a temperate plant. It grows in alpine regions on the edges of forests between 1,800-2,800 m above sea level in north China.
