What it is like
A herb. It is hairy. It has a robust woody rhizome 15 cm long. The stems are short and often have leaves on one side. The leaves are 10-30 cm long by 6-20 cm wide. The flowering shoots occur singly and have one flower. This is white or yellow-green.

It is a tropical plant. It grows in Hainan. It grows in ravines and dense forests at about 1,400 m above sea level.
