What it is like
A branched herb. It keeps growing from year to year. The stems are woody at the base. The stems lie along the ground. The leaves are oval or spoon shaped. They are opposite with one of them smaller than the other. The flowers are crowded in the axils of the leaves.
There are about 20 Trianthema species.
Where it is found
It is a tropical plant. It can grow in deserts and arid places.
