What it is like
A tree. It grows 16-50 m tall. At high altitudes it is only a shrub 3 m tall. The leaves are in flat sprays. The leaves are like scales. They are in opposite pairs. They are 2-3 mm long. The fruit are cones 1-2 cm long. They have 4 scales. The 2 fertile scales have wings.
There is only one Papuacedrus species.
Where it is found
A tropical plant. In Maluku it grows between 700-2,400 m above sea level. Arboretum Tasmania.
