What it is like
A large shrub. It grows 6 m high. The leaves are narrowly oval and 1-2 cm long by 0.4-0.8 cm wide. The flowers are bright red. The fruit is a berry 4-5 mm across. It is bluish-black with a hairy covering.
Where it is found
A tropical plant. It rows in scrub forests on ridges between 1,700-3,400 m altitude.
