What it is like
A tree. It grows 25 m tall. The leaves are simple and opposite. The leaf blade is 9-21 cm long by 5-8 cm wide. It is narrowly oval and the base is wedge shaped. The flowers are round and in the axils of leaves or at the end of the branches. They are 1 cm across. The fruit are 1-4 cm across. They contain several seeds.
Where it is found
It is a tropical plant. In Central America it grow from sea level to 600 m altitude.
