What it is like
A large tree. It grows 40 m high. The trunk can be 3 m across. The leaves are green and shiny. They are narrowly oval or sword shaped and 7-15 cm long by 2-4 cm wide. The male cones are oval and 2-5 cm long. The female cones are rounded and 8-13 cm across. They are on short woody stalks. The seeds are small and flattened and have a wing 3.5 cm long.
Where it is found
It is a tropical plant. It grows in the tropical humid lowlands. It is best with a temperature between 25-28°C.
