What it is like
A shrub or tree. It grows 4-15 m tall. The leaves are narrowly oval and 4-10 cm long by 3-5 cm wide. They are white underneath. Flowers are in groups of 1 to 3. The petals are white. The fruit is a berry 8 mm long by 6 mm wide. They are hairy.
Where it is found
It is a tropical plant of secondary forests. In southern China it grows in broad-leaved evergreen forests and low elevations and up to 600m above sea level.
