What it is like
A herb that grows in water. There leaves are of 2 types. The leaves under water are narrow and 30-60 cm long by 5-10 cm wide. The floating leaves are oval or broadly oblong and 10-20 cm long by 4-10 cm wide. Male and female flowers are separate.

A tropical plant. It grows in ponds and channels.
