What it is like

A palm which forms clusters of a few shoots. These grow to 7 m high. The crown-shafts are small and rust coloured. They have lines of black spines. The leaf crown forms a half circle. The leaves are 2 m long. They arch over slightly. The leaflets are regularly spaced. They grow in a single plane. They are deep green on both surfaces.


Where it is found

It is a tropical plant. It grows in low mountain forest in Negros in the Philippines.
