What it is like
A herb. The leaves are alternate and clustered on short shoots. The flowers are in groups of 1-4 and usually appear after the first leaves have fallen. The leaves are narrowly oblong and 1-5 cm long by 0.3-3 cm wide. The fruit is a red berry 7 mm long by 4 mm wide.
