What it is like
A tree. It grows up to 42 m high. The trunk can be 40 cm across. There are buttresses 1.3 m high. The twigs are 2.5 mm thick. They have dense red-brown hairs. The leaves are papery to leathery. They are oblong or sword shaped and 6.5-24 cm long by 2.5-8 cm wide. They are broadest in the middle. There are 9-16 pairs of secondary veins. The flowers are white and 8 mm long. The fruit are oval and 25-35 mm long. The fruit are edible.

A tropical plant. It grows in marshy and dry lowland forest.
