What it is like
A shrub. It grows 4 m tall. It loses its leaves during the year. The leaves are oval and 5-9 cm long by 2-3 cm wide. There are a few flowers in groups on side branches. They are purple. The fruit is a follicle 7-12 cm long by 5 mm wide. The seeds are oblong.
Also put in the family Asclepiadaceae.
Where it is found
It is a temperate plant. It grows in plains and on the edges of forests. In Sichuan and Yunnan.
