What it is like
A tree. It grows to 40 m high. The trunk is 90 cm across. It can have buttresses 1.4 m tall. The bark is brown or red. The twigs are smooth. The leaves have 1-5 leaflets. They are 5.7-22 cm long by 2.7-9 cm wide. The flowering cluster can be in the axils of leaves or at the ends of branches. The fruit is flattened and oval. It is 2-2.8 cm by 1.2-1.8 cm. The surface is warty.
Where it is found
A tropical plant. In Indonesia it grows in primary or secondary forest up to 1,000 m altitude. It is often in alluvial forests and along streams.
