What it is like

A large tree. The branches are smooth except for the very young tips which are rust coloured and are roughened by leaf scars. The leaves are at the ends of branches in clusters and are oval. The flowers are yellowish green or whitish and densely clustered in the axils of leaves. The fruit are dull green and oval. They are 4 cm long.


Where it is found

A tropical plant. They are abundant in the forests of Luzon in the Philippines at low and medium elevations.
