What it is like

An evergreen tree. The young branches and flowers have fine hairs. The leaves are compound. They are 8-20 cm long. There are 2-8 leaflets arranged alternately. These are 6-15 cm long and 2-5 cm wide. They are narrowly oval and taper to the tip. There are teeth along the edge. The fruit is a 2 lobed capsule. The seeds is black and the aril or layer around the seed is red.
