What it is like
A banana which forms clumps. The stems are 4-6 m high. The leaves are 300-350 cm long by 40-60 cm wide. They are leathery. The flowering stalks are 80 cm long. They hang down. The fruit is a berry 5-6 cm long by 2-2.2 cm wide. The seeds are about 0.65 cm across.
There are about 30 Musa species.
Where it is found
A tropical plant. It is a rare species from the Daintree river in Queensland, Australia.
