What it is like
A tree. It grows to 6-9 m high. It spreads 8 m wide. The leaves have stalks. The leaves are 9-18 cm long by 5-12.5 cm wide. They are oval with an abrupt tip. They have slight lobes and teeth. There is a white layer underneath the leaf. The flowers are white. The fruit is round and warty.
There are about 75 Sorbus species.
Where it is found
It is a warm temperate plant. In Nepal they grow between 2500-3200 m altitude. It suits hardiness zones 8-10.
