What it is like
A shrub or tree. It grows 2-7 m tall. The branches are 3-5 mm across. They have reddish hairs. The leaves are narrowly oval and 7-17 cm long by 1-6 cm wide. The flowers are in groups of 3-10. The flowers are white, greenish or red. The fruit are green to black and round. They are 5-4 mm across.
It has medicinal benefits.
Where it is found
It is a tropical plant. In southern China it grows between 400-2,400 m above sea level.
