What it is like

A tree. It grows 30 m high. The trunk can be 45 cm across. The bark is grey and finely cracked. It can peel off in thin narrow strips. The leaves are 5-12 cm long and 2-5 cm wide. They are pale green and shiny underneath. The flowering stalks are as 1-4 in the axils of the leaves. There are 3-15 flowers on each. The flowers do not have a scent. The flower petals are yellow.

They have also been put in the family Memecylaceae.
