What it is like
A small tree. It grows 11 m tall. The leaves have 4-6 pairs of leaflets. They are narrowly oval with a rounded base. There can be fine teeth. The flower clusters are 3-4 cm long. The fruit are oval and 8-10 mm long by 7-9 mm wide. There are one or two seeds.
There are about 10 Micromelum species. They grow in Asia and the Pacific.
Where it is found
A tropical plant. It grows in southern China in mountains below 1,200 m above sea level. In Yunnan.
