What it is like

A shrub or small tree. It grows 2.5-8 m tall. The branches have ridges along them. The leaves are 8-15 cm long by 3.5-7.5 cm wide. The fruit are round and blue and 3-5 mm across.

The leaves contain 0.22% caffeine

It is a subtropical plant. It occurs up to 1,200 m above sea level.
