What it is like
A medium sized cactus. It grows 1 m tall. The leaves are flattened and oval shaped. They are grey green and have white spine 3 cm long. The flowers have yellow petals. They are 7 cm wide. The fruit is 7 cm long. It is deep red and sweet.
Where it is found
It is a tropical plant. It grows in mountain ranges in full sun or light shade. It is drought tolerant and grows up to 2,000 m above sea level.
