What it is like

A spiky desert plant with a ring of leaves. It has a woody stem 2 m tall. The leaves are long and arching. The leaf base is spoon shape. The leaf bases are 10-12 cm long by 5-6 cm wide. They gradually narrow to the tip. The leaf blades are 80-140 cm long by 1-1.2 cm wide. The flowering shoots are 3-4 m tall.
