What it is like

A shrub or small tree. It grows 2-4 m tall. It has many branches. The young branches are 4 sided. The leaves are oval and 2-5 cm long by 1-3 cm wide. They are leathery and have lumps on both surfaces. The flowers are in groups in the axils of leaves. The fruit is berry like and round and 6-7 mm across. They are lumpy.


Where it is found

It is a tropical plant. In southern China it grows in open area and near streams up to about 300 m above sea level. In Yunnan.
