What it is like
A scrambling shrub. It grows 1-4 m tall. The branches are 4 angled when young. The leaves only have short leaf stalks. The leaves are narrowly oval and 10-21 cm long by 4-11 cm wide. The fruit is a berry 5-6 mm long by 4-5 mm wide.
There are about 400 Medinilla species.
Where it is found
A subtropical plant. It grows in damp places between 200-1,300 m above sea level.
