What it is like

A herb. It keeps growing from year to year. It grows 10-50 cm tall. The leaves at the base have short leaf stalks and are spoon shaped. The leaves are the stem are opposite to alternate and 2-7 cm long. There are irregular teeth along the edge.

There are about 30 Mazus species. Also put in the family Scrophulariaceae.


Where it is found

It is a temperate plant. It grows in grassland and in wet places on the edges of forests below 1,500 m above sea level in north China. In Sichuan.
