What it is like

A tree. It grows 12 m tall. The leaves are sword shaped and 11-26 cm long by 4-8 cm wide. The flowers are white. The fruit are roundish but oblique. They are 6-8 cm long by 6 cm wide. The flesh is fibrous.

There are about 40 Mangifera species. An unresolved name in The Plant List.


Where it is found

A tropical plant. They grow in the humid tropics. It grows in lowland rain forest and along rivers. It occurs in the southern area of Papua New Guinea.
