What it is like

A shrub or small tree. It grows 2-15 m high. The leaves are oval and 3-7 cm long by 2-4 cm wide. Plants are separately male and female. The fruit are oval or round and 2 cm long.

Also as medicine. There are about 200 Drypetes species.


Where it is found

A tropical plant. It grows in dry evergreen forest on rocky limestone hills. It grows up to 800 m above sea level in southern China. In Yunnan.
