What it is like

A small tree with leaves divided into 3 leaflets. The leaves are alternate. The leaflets are entire and pointed at the tip but more rounded at the base. The flowers are yellowish white. The fruit are rounded and yellow with a very thick outer covering. The seeds are surrounded by a pulp which is almost clear.

Where it is found

A tropical plant. They occur from northern Luzon to southern Mindanao in the Philippines. It grows in primary forests at low and medium altitudes.
