What it is like
A shrub. It grows 1 m tall and has stems that can be creeping. There is a thick, hard woody rootstock. Young parts have a velvety coating. The leaves are 20 cm long and have leaflets along the side and one at the end.
Some samples have been confused with Lannea edulis.
Where it is found
It is a tropical plant. It grows in bushy plains.
